Introducing a Chinese consortium of hepatitis E

CCSHE, The Chinese Consortium for the Study of Hepatitis E, is an academic association dedicated to pursuing excellence in hepatitis E research and innovation, to improving clinical practice of hepatitis E-related diseases, to increasing the awareness in the general public and to providing a collaborative platform for colleagues in the hepatitis E field. This association was initiated by Dr. Jian Wu from Zhejiang University and Dr. Yijin Wang from Southern University of Science and Technology connecting with many other clinicians/scientists across China. The participants of CCSHE cover various expertise including infectious diseases, virology, hepatology, diagnostics, public health, as well as other disciplines.

With this joint adventure, CCSHE aims to better understand the epidemiology and clinical features of hepatitis E in China through promoting communication, collaboration, and knowledge/expertise exchanges among Chinese professionals. More importantly, CCSHE promotes collaborations across boundaries including fundamental, translational and clinical hepatitis E research. Finally, CCSHE hopes to facilitate hepatitis E-related policy-making in China.

Currently, CCSHE is mainly engaging colleagues domestically, but soon shall also bridge international collaborations in the hepatitis E field.
