I have been the Deputy leader of the Laboratory of Technological Development in Virology of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, since 2008. My main occupation is in the diagnosis and laboratory surveillance of hepatitis A virus (HAV) and hepatitis E virus (HEV) from clinical and environmental samples obtained from sporadic cases or during outbreaks.
